This year, CAAM launched its American South Initiative, kicking off with its first-ever regional convening in Durham, North Carolina. The initiative is a year-long effort engaging the Asian American documentary filmmaking community to build an infrastructure connecting social justice and cultural organizations in the American South. As part of this initiative, STORIES FROM THE AMERICAN SOUTH SHORTS brings uniquely-curated Asian American voices to the social justice and cultural identity issues lying in the lesser-explored region.
