Cheer on 2025 Fellows Pitching their Projects to a panel of Jurors

.

Get a peek at the process of pitching a film to funders! The 2025 CAAM Fellows Sue Ding, Manish Khanal and Angad Singh will have eight minutes to present their documentary pitches to a jury of representatives from Independent Television Service (ITVS) , Catapult Film Fund, American Documentary (AmDoc/POV) and SFFILM. Each fellow will screen a sample video during their pitch, and after sharing their film proposals, they will then have fifteen minutes for a jury Q&A.

Sue Ding’s Rice Rocket Revolution explores the roots of the import car community in Asian American youth culture. Manish Khanal’s Untitled Nepali Diaspora Project is a personal documentary following his family’s migration from Nepal to America. And Angad Singh’s Hunting Lions is about diaspora Sikh activists who were targeted in assassination plots.

The winning pitch will be announced during the Filmmaker & Awards Reception on Friday, May 9. The winner will receive a $10,000 grant from CAAM supported by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.

This session is made possible in part with funding from Bank of America and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
