Getting Around

Flying In

When booking your flights to travel to CAAMFest, San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the closest airport to the primary festival venues and hotels. Oakland International Airport is located about 30 minutes via BART and 45 minutes by car, depending on traffic. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) airport is located in San Jose, about one hour drive from downtown San Francisco.

Getting To The Festival

CAAMFest 2024 will be held in person in the beautiful and vibrant San Francisco Bay Area. Our world is drastically changing day to day and we want to continue to celebrate our stories, gather in gratitude and to be in a deep sense of community with our friends and family from all around the Bay and the world.

This year, the 42nd annual CAAMfest will offer our guests the freedom to explore some of the most iconic and beloved neighborhoods in the San Francisco Bay Area, including San Francisco’s storied Japantown District, historic Chinatown, entertainment and museum laden South of Market (SOMA), Union Square’s theater and shopping district, the pride-adorned Castro, the Mission’s diverse and cultural district, and Oakland’s artsy Downtown & Uptown.  A complete list of CAAMFest venues and addresses can be found here.

The Bay Area offers a plethora of ways to get around CAAMFest based on your needs and interests.

Public Transportation

We strongly encourage the use of public transportation as San Francisco traffic is unpredictable and parking can be a challenge. All venues are easily accessible by BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) and MUNI bus lines. For schedules and fares, please visit BART.gov and 511 Transit Trip Planner, also available as an app. San Francisco Bay Ferry also has service from downtown San Francisco to Oakland for those who prefer to travel over the Bay in a cool, calm and comfortable way.

CAAMFest is BARTable! Skip the driving and the hassle of parking by taking BART to CAAMFest.
