Sake, known as “the drink of the gods,” has influenced culture in Japan and across the world for many generations.
A British sake brewer, an American journalist and a young president of a century-old sake brewery in Japan come together to explore the mysterious world of the traditional rice wine in KAMPAI! FOR THE LOVE OF SAKE.
The film illustrates how these unique individuals, who have been fascinated with this extraordinary Japanese beverage, encounter the challenges of the current sake industry. The trio traces the origins of sake as they investigate its rich, complex and spectacular history.
