Description
CAAMFest’s Centerpiece Narrative, and part of a Spotlight Presentation on prominent Hong Kong filmmaker Mabel Cheung, A TALE OF THREE CITIES is an epic romance chronicling the story of Jackie Chan’s real-life parents. Cheung transports us to the turbulent times of war in the 1930s and 1940s, when two widowed people fall in love amid poverty and change.
Stars Ching Wan Lau (MAD DETECTIVE) and Wei Tang (LUST, CAUTION) flesh out the emotion and spirit of Chan’s parents, who were thrust together by tragedy and developed a strong attraction. The beautiful period details and settings flow through the screen, making the story feel rich with culture and history.
