CAAMFest in Chinatown

March 12, 2016

Everything Will Be

Vancouver's Chinatown was once rich in culture and diversity. As more of its heritage is traded in for new trends, the history of this storied neighborhood is getting pushed aside. Award-winning director Julia Kwan captures these moments in flux as the fate of this community unfolds.

Frank Wong's Chinatown (working title)

FRANK WONG'S CHINATOWN (working title) is the story of 81-year-old Frank Wong. This unknown, self-taught artist has spent the past four decades recreating his fading memories by building romantic, extraordinarily detailed miniature models of the San Francisco Chinatown rooms of his youth. Wong's miniature dioramas become rare portals into a historic neighborhood.
