Description

Dating apps have become the most convenient, and sometimes safest, way for gay men looking to connect in today’s obstacle course of sexuality, romance, and friendship. Director Chou Tung-Yen explores the motivations and experiences of app users, drawing on his own as a starting point. Tung-Yen’s resulting cinematic journey swipes through 60 gay men from seven cities across the globe and peels back the digital layers, intimately examining each subject’s search for love, lust, and loss.

Insightful and diverse stories beautifully dance around their sexuality and what sex means to each man as they connect with partners and navigate intersecting preferences, intellects, and passions. Ultimately, many of the interviewees dig to the core of their app experiences, finding clarity in what they desire online and offline … What are you looking for?
