Join JUST DOUG creator and actor Doug Kim on his semi-autobiographical journey to Los Angeles, where he navigates landing gigs with his best pal, potential romance with a writer/barista, and FaceTime ambushes from his disapproving mom.
Kim’s desires to find meaningful roles are anything but aided by his aloof, overloaded agent, whose motivation is commission over substance. A chance opportunity seemingly rewards Kim when he lands a spot as the love interest on a hot new comedy series. When microaggressions abound on the set and his hopes are dashed, Kim has to choose: He can sell out to advance his career and let down the Asian American community, or he can stick it to the broken Hollywood system and maintain his authenticity.
