About the filmmaker: Janet Chen is a filmmaker, producer and educator. She has worked at Visual Communications and UC Irvine. Janet is currently the Assistant Director for the UCLA Center for EthnoCommunications in Asian American Studies where she co-teaches documentary courses with filmmaker and professor Renee Tajima-Peña. She also creates films and multimedia projects, including Building History 3.0, Collective Memories and Translate COVID-19 videos. She is a leadership team member for A-Doc (Asian American Documentary Network), a national and transnational network that works to increase the visibility and support of Asian Americans in the documentary field and a member of Brown Girls Doc Mafia.
