Exploring the intimacy of the mundane, sống ở đây | TO LIVE HERE focuses on the lives of Vietnamese shrimpers and elderly farmers in New Orleans, understanding the reverberations of the past, present in day to day labor. Filmmaker Melanie Ho is part of CAAM’s inaugural THE SAUCE Fellowship, which supports diverse filmmakers based in the American South.

About the filmmaker: Melanie Dang Ho is a queer Vietnamese American filmmaker and writer. She is a graduate of UCSC’s Social Documentary MFA program. Her work explores themes of intimacy, gender, labor, hauntings, trauma, and displacement.
