Demystifying AI in Filmmaking

  • 60 mins

It’s hard to not get swept up in the frenzy of AI, but all the noise can obscure what these tools actually do and what’s at stake when we use them. This panel aims to offer clarity for filmmakers who are curious but cautious about what’s on the horizon. Alongside speakers working at the forefront of new media, we’ll unpack AI’s promise and pitfalls and explore how filmmakers can ethically engage with emerging tools without compromising the integrity of their stories or the trust of their audiences.

Featuring A.X. Mina (Senior Vice President, American Journalism Project), Akmyrat Tuyliyev (Producer, MIT Open Documentary Lab), and Nouf Aljowaysir (New Media Artist) in conversation with Zaki Barzinji (Building Bridges Program Director, Doris Duke Foundation).
