Description

In SINGING GRAVEYARDS, Pepe’s dreams of rock and roll stardom are fading fast as he lives out his golden years. He makes his living impersonating Pinoy rock legend Joey Smith (played by none other than the real Joey “Pepe” Smith, who also plays Pepe). Just as things seem to hit rock bottom for Pepe, he gets an unexpected opportunity to open for Joey Smith at his upcoming reunion concert. But with his last chance at making it big, Pepe has to come to terms with the people in his life. This proves difficult, especially when the reality around him starts distorting in bizarre ways.

SINGING IN GRAVEYARDS is a dramatic story with imaginative elements that detail the hardship musicians endure on and off the stage. Smith’s performance adds authenticity, and self-ridicule, with his experience in the music industry. Fans of Smith will be sure to enjoy watching his music come alive on the big screen. SINGING IN GRAVEYARDS premiered at the Venice International Film Critics’ Week 2016, and CAAMFest is the film’s North American debut.
