Previous Spotlights include Wayne Wang, Gurinder Chandha, James Shigeta, Anna May Wong, Pei-Pei Cheng, Alice Wu, H.P. Mendoza, Deanne Borshay Liem and Valerie Soe. This May, we are proud to honor three outstanding industry leaders: Actor/Director Dante Basco, Director Evan Jackson Leong and Actor/Producer Margaret Cho.

Dante Basco has been a recognizable figure in film, tv and games for three decades. Many began knowing of Dante’s talent and charisma in Steven Spielberg’s HOOK (1991). After that, Dante has starred in dozens of wonderful films and tv shows including Nickelodeon’s AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER and AMERICAN DRAGON: JAKE LONG. In 2021, Dante has added director to his resume with his feature debut THE FABULOUS FILIPINO BROTHERS.
